Rasa in Sanskrit means the taste or essence of any impression; the aesthetic experience in transcendence; the emotional fulfillment of the soul; the essence of Divine Love.

DEVOTION
The foundations for Devotion, Rasa's debut album, are traditional Indian songs sung in Bengali and Sanskrit. Musical backings were built by Hans Christian around Kim Waters vocals to provide a non-traditional context for ancient compositions. Hans used an eclectic array of instruments: the cello, sarangi, nyckelharpa, bass, acoustic guitar, keyboards, harmonium, and various Indian and Persian percussion instruments. The result is music from an undisturbed place, filled with love, passion, stillness and beauty.

UNION
A follow-up to their critically acclaimed debut album Devotion, Union fuses traditional Sanskit and Bengal songs with new life, bringing together the elegance and passion of contempory music with the soothing, hypnotic spiritual traditions and depth of Indian devotional tradition. This album is an inspiration, a true miracle of grace.
Kim Waters is a distinguished illustrator and singer whose publications include Illuminations from the Bhagavad Gita, Enchanted Tales, The Butter Thief, The Vrindavan Fold-out Temple, and Devi, a fold-out altar. Kim has been singing devotional songs of the Vaisnava saints for many years, inspired by the mystical teachings and rich cultural heritage of India.
Hans Christian's musical journey began many years ago in Germany by studying the cello. He has worked as a session musician in Los Angeles during the 1980's and has collaborated with artists like Robert Rich, Vas, Krishna Das, and Jai Uttal.
