Opening of the Museum of World Religions

On November 9, 2001, the Museum of World Religions opened in Taiwan. As stated by its founder, Master Hsin Tao, "The Museum of World Religions belongs to all faiths. Its founding is inspiring and encouraging interfaith dialogue so that we all work together to create peace and understanding in the world we share."

The concept of the Museum is reflected in its concept of respect for all faiths, tolerance for all cultures and love for all life. As Master Hsin Tao stresses, a museum of world religions must create dialogue and interaction with the audience, providing real-life experiences. Thus, the Museum of World Religions's displays have an international field of vision, actively attracting audiences as well as providing essential about the multiplicity religious choice.

The museum's collections represent the religious artifacts of numerous nationalities. and are presented in the context of modern technology to provide information. People can make use of this diverse and complex knowledge to arrive at an objective truth and make judgements for themselves as they seek answers. This information advances an understanding of why human beings desire religious beliefs and of what assistance religion can give people. It allows spectators to affirm and be convinced through personal experience, and thereby transform their intrinsic perceptions.
